i sat there watching my mom die her worst death. before that music to me was try to have the best aesthetic play well to the figureheads and try to hop on the new trends. mall music was going to be my album, I was going to make goopy indie rock tame impala music. something spritely and lively and dancey. the image of mesita was so far apart from the person i was from that trauma, and i was involved in the branding. this thing i had build which was millennial optimist shit did not mean anything when my mom was dying. it was march of 2017. it broke me. my first album i just didn't even use anything that was looked at as trying. anything with production of that album i ran from. i just suffered the worst loss i will ever feel in my entire life. i can't be here making drum sounds. so I made an album that sounded like crap on purpose.

even being honest in your weak moments add value, don't shy away from it
